The first stage will examine summer trends (report to be launched at the ALTO London event on 1st September 2014)
The second stage will examine annual results (report to be launched at the ALTO Berlin event on 3rd November 2014)
|From the first Board meeting of the new independent ALTO in 2010, board members were clear that the language travel industry would benefit from a worldwide benchmarking project, one that would enable organisations to measure their results both against previous years and also to other organisations from the same and other markets.
Further, the Board also hopes that a comprehensive benchmarking report might attract more investors into the industry and increase the profile of the language travel industry within the global economy.
It was proposed that a two-phase project be completed in 2014. The membership supported this idea and Inaqui Alvarez- Valdes and Andrew Mangion have subsequently developed a project with well known accounting firm Deloitte, whose Maltese branch has already worked with our industry on several projects.
The 2014 report will have two stages:
The survey will be circulated by Deloitte and is completely confidential and anonymous. We would like to emphasise the importance of language travel organisations’ participation in this survey. A wide take-up will result in a more representative report about our industry which will benefit all of us.
A summary report of this benchmarking exercise will be available to everyone who participated in the project. ALTO members will receive a more detailed report as the association is underwriting and managing the project.
Please look out for the survey “ALTO Benchmarking project 2014 – stage 1” which will be circulated in July 2014, and support your industry by taking the time to complete the survey questions. If you don’t receive the questionnaire by 18th July 2014 and would like to participate please submit this form.
