ALTO Conference New York 2014 - read report

Key issues facing the industry such as technological developments and the changing role of teachers and agents were discussed at the latest ALTO Conference in New York.

Presentations by Marijo Bos, President of Bos Advisors and PWN Global network, Daniel Sieberg, Author and Head of Media Outreach at Google, and Heidi Grant Halvorson, Associate Director of the Motivation Science Center at the Columbia Business School gave participants tools to improve their business and personal lives. From reconstructing goals to simply putting down the smartphone, ALTO members came away with practical tweaks to daily business life. Read full article here and watch the event summary video.

 ALTO benchmarking 2014

From the first Board meeting of the new independent ALTO in 2010, board members were clear that the language travel industry would benefit from a worldwide benchmarking project, one that would enable organisations to measure their results both against previous years and also to other organisations from the same and other markets.

Further, the Board also hopes that a comprehensive benchmarking report might attract more investors into the industry and increase the profile of the language travel industry within the global economy.
