Berlin event 2016

Watch out for the slightly different schedule we have this year in Berlin! ALTO will organise a networking drinks reception on Saturday, 29th October for members and their invited guests who are interested in joining the association.

The Sunday programme on 30th October will begin with the AGM and Election of Board members, followed by a professional development session on Intercultural communication/ Negotiation techniques.

As part of the ICEF Berlin seminar programme we have asked for a slot to introduce the ALTO Standard guidelines and benefits to a wider audience. The presentation will also showcase the web-tool which will serve as a platform implementing the main guidelines of the Standard available to ALTO member agents, member schools and their non-member partner agents.

The ALTO- Deloitte Language Travel Industry Survey 2015
- the report

ALTO has commissioned a world-wide industry data collection exercise, which was project managed by Deloitte in order to assure the complete confidentiality, impartiality and professionalism that a top four Professional Service company can bring.

The ALTO- Deloitte Language Travel Industry Survey report is a very important tool for ALTO in its aim to improve the international profile of the language travel industry within the global economy. It also helps organisations of all sizes to find ways of aligning themselves to the national and international industry benchmarks outlined in the report and thus creating more professional and more profitable businesses that benefit the industry as a whole.

The second annual report is now published and available to the public (summary version). The full report with country supplements is circulated to the ALTO membership and those organisations that supported the data collection. They have been contacted directly by Deloitte. The 3rd annual survey's data collection will open soon, sing up for the project here!

Read our report on the ALTO Conference San Francisco 2016

ALTO held its annual conference in San Francisco this year with high profile keynote speakers and opportunities for the leaders of the industry to get together and exchange ideas during the round table and panel sessions. The 2-day event was also designed to maximise the networking potential of having prominent industry players in the same room during the Speed Dating and the less formal social events. According to participants the conference was hugely beneficial for both agent and school participants and some quoted the event as “the best industry conference I have ever attended”. Read more
