Global Trends for the Language Travel Industry

Seven heads of national associations spent time sharing insight with ALTO delegates about business challenges and market updates before discussing wider industry hot topics, such as how agent regulation might evolve in light of new Partner Agency schemes or agent certification modules...

ALTO’s initiative of inviting key destination association heads in order to examine and compare trends within the language travel industry was very well received and allowed members to form a truly global perspective about the industry. The board has plans to continue facilitating similar discussions in the future and extend the invitation to representatives of top source market associations next year.

ALTO seminar Malaga 16th January 2015 -  Marco Bertini continues to "educate us" on pricing - register for the event

Join us at the ALTO Malaga event on 16th January 2015, where we've invited our top scorer on the list of excellent keynote speakers according to members' feedback: Marco Bertini. Marco will hold a seminar for us from 09:30 on the Friday before Alphe Malaga begins so we recommend that you arrive one day earlier for the workshop on Thursday, 15th January. You can also join the ALTO seminar if you are not registered to participate at the workshop over the weekend.

Our events are usually open to members only, but we would like to invite decision makers of non-member organisations to our Malaga event, so that they can see the excellent professional development and networking value we offer to our members.

Watch Marco's previous presentation Pricing for Profit in the members' area (you need to log in first).

The ALTO Deloitte Language Travel Industry Survey 2014

The ALTO Deloitte Language Travel Industry Survey report is the first one in the industry of this scale and ALTO's plan is to make this an annual benchmarking report that includes concise and meaningful data. During the next few years we hope to develop this to the one and only report that all key stakeholders of the industry, including language schools, educational agents, associations, lenders, investors and service providers will refer to when trying to find comprehensive benchmarking data about the industry.

The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank organisations who participated in the data collection and supported the project by providing information about their business performance. We would like to encourage them to spread the idea and talk to their peers about the importance of participation in order to make this a truly global survey.

The executive summary of the report will be available to everyone on 12th January 2015. A more in-depth country analysis will be available to ALTO members and organisations who participated in the data collection. They will be contacted directly by Deloitte at the same time.

Season's Greetings from the ALTO Board
We look forward to seeing you in 2015 !
